Middle Fork AmericanAll-Outdoors rafting trips on the Middle Fork of the American River were featured in the 2009 edition of Lonely Planet’s guide to trips in California.  Lonely Planet says this trip is “one of the best two-day rafting trips in the western states!”

“Why go?” asks travel writer Nate Cavalieri? “River guide Scott Armstrong has been exploring the canyon of the Middle Fork of the American River for 25 years…..from the canyon floor, where the Middle Fork of the American River tumbles over granite and serpentine boulders in a white rush, it becomes obvious that all the dams controlling the water and the regulations governing the visitors don’t matter; the place is untamed. As white water goes, this fork of the American isn’t the biggest or the baddest, but rushing past mining relics and the untouched wilds of the vast Auburn State Recreation Area makes one of the best two-day rafting trips in the western states.”
